For academics
You've built a career that matters. So why does it feel like it's slowly consuming you?
You’re exceptional at what you do. And you’re exhausted.
Academic life asks everything of you simultaneously. A four-star research profile. Teaching excellence. Student satisfaction scores. Pastoral care. Visibility in your field. An active public presence. Committees, administration, mentoring, reviewing.
You chose this work because it matters to you, intellectually, personally, vocationally. But somewhere between the person who started this career and the role you're now performing, something has quietly shifted.
You're running on empty. And the world keeps asking for more.
This isn't a time management problem.
It's a deeper question, about who you are beyond your role, what you actually want from your career now, and whether the life you've built in service of this work still fits the person you've become.
These are not questions academia makes space for. There's no appraisal framework for 'I'm not sure I want this anymore.' No sabbatical for an identity shift.
That's where coaching comes in.
What working together looks like
I understand this world from the inside. I've spent decades in higher education; as a leader, an educator, and someone who has navigated the particular pressures that come with being a woman in a demanding academic institution.
I also know what it's like to realise the career you built no longer fits who you are. That's not failure. That's growth asking for attention.
Working together, we create the space, outside of work, outside of institutional expectations, to think clearly about what's actually going on, what matters most to you now, and what comes next.
Whether that's redesigning your relationship with your current role, planning a significant transition, or simply reconnecting with yourself after years of giving everything to the institution — we work at your pace, in your direction.
Where to start
Depending on where you are, there are two ways we can work together:
-
Six sessions over three months. If you're overwhelmed and not sure where to start, this gives you focus, perspective, and a clear direction forward. A complete programme in itself, some clients go on to The Redesign, others have exactly what they need.
-
Ten sessions over five months. If you're ready to do the deeper work of unpicking what's not working and rebuilding around what actually matters to you now.
Both begin with a Discovery Call, a no obligation conversation to explore where you are and what comes next.
